About

Hi, I’m Parsa – the “Night Owl” DBA, but working to transition into DBRE (Database Reliability Engineer). I’ve spent more than 15 years diving deep into the world of Oracle and SQL Server Databases, Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Middleware, and Oracle Enterprise Manager, working on everything from high-availability architecture and performance tuning to out-of-place patching, automation, and multicloud migrations. I’ve led teams through large-scale database modernization projects, always with a focus on reliability, automation, and practical simplicity. Whether it’s Oracle Cloud or Microsoft Azure, I enjoy finding smarter, more efficient ways to make database systems run smoothly – and I love sharing those lessons with others who want to grow their confidence with database technologies.

Beyond the late-night troubleshooting and tuning sessions that inspired the “Night Owl” name, I’m deeply curious about how artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of database engineering. My academic research explores how AI and machine learning can enhance managerial decision making – but I’m interesting in applying the same principals to make databases more autonomous, predictive, and self-optimizing. This blog is where I bring those worlds together: real-world Oracle and multicloud experiences, hands-on automation projects, and a forward-looking view of how AI will redefine what it means to be a modern DBA.
